Most likely you are going to need to do a recovery of the operating system after replacing the system drive. If you have the PC Restore Disc you can follow instructions. If you do not have the disc (and did not create one previously) you will need to contact HP Technical Support at 1-800-474-6836 (US/Canada) and see if they can provide you with a set of these discs. Also, another possibility is that the hard drive isn't compatible. A few Western Digital hard drives are not compatible with the HP Media Vault. You can find a list of these. If you have recovered the operating system already but the Media Vault is still not recognized I would try the steps located.
